ATP and WTA strip Wimbledon of ranking points
The two tennis governing bodies have decided to penalise Wimbledon for its decision to ban Russian and Belarusian players from the tournament.
“The ability for players of any nationality to enter tournaments based on merit, and without discrimination, is fundamental to our Tour,” said the ATP in a statement. “The decision by Wimbledon to ban Russian and Belarusian players from competing in the UK this summer undermines this principle and the integrity of the ATP Ranking system. It is also inconsistent with our Rankings agreement. Absent a change in circumstances, it is with great regret and reluctance that we see no option but to remove ATP Ranking points from Wimbledon for 2022.” Read more

Polsat signs 10-year deal with Volleyball World
Volleyball World, the sport’s organising body, has signed an agreement in Poland with commercial broadcaster Polsat.
The agreement will apply to all international volleyball and beach volleyball events over the next ten years.
This includes the men’s and women’s FIVB Volleyball World Championships that will be held in 2022, 2026 and 2030, as well as the Beach Volleyball World Championships, the annual Volleyball Nations League (VNL), the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour, Olympic Qualifying tournaments and a new FIVB World Event in 2025 and 2029. New Hampshire betting handle goes up 57.5% year-on-year
Bettors in New Hampshire wagered $73.1m on sports this April, up 57.5% year-on-year, while revenue in the US state also edged up.
DraftKings’ mobile app accounted for the majority of bets, with a total of $60.5m wagered in April, The remaining $12.7m was spent at DraftKings-branded retail sportsbooks in Manchester, Seabrook and Dover. Read more
