When will the J.League resume?
Japanese football clubs are working out a revised schedule that would allow them to finish the season.
The updated timetable is to be published on April 8, and the J1, the top flight of Japanese football, is expected to return on May 9.
J2, second-tier of the Japanese league system, is scheduled to resume on May 2, and the third division is aiming to kick-off on April 25. Learn more

Italian government to help betting industry
Italy is in a dramatic situation now due to the coronavirus crisis. Apart from claiming lives of more than 10,000 people, the virus is damaging the country’s economy, forcing the government to take decisive actions.

How can football leagues keep their fans entertained in these difficult times? Bundesliga and K-League are organising online football tournaments to be played among their clubs.
German Football Association has decided to turn to esports to keep football fans entertained during the coronavirus crisis. 26 Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs are taking part in the competition called Bundesliga Home Challenge, a FIFA 20 video game tournament, which began on March 28. Each team is represented by two players, including one professional footballer. Learn more
South Korean K-League came up with a similar idea meant to keep its fans entertained. It is organising an online football tournament FIFA Online 4, which involves professional players from different teams contesting the league. Learn more
