Over $1 billion was bet on sports in New Jersey in September
New Jersey has become the first state to reach the milestone of $1 billion wagered on sports in a single month!
The start of the NFL season has certainly boosted the betting-related revenues. Over 90% of the bets were placed online.

FIFA is ending a longstanding partnership with EA Sports
The current deal between the two entities expires at the end of 2022. According to a report by The New York Times, FIFA has been seeking $1 billion every four years— more than double what it currently gets from EA Sports.
The world’s football governing body issued a statement, which reads: “FIFA is bullish and excited about the future in gaming and esports for football, and it is clear that this needs to be a space that is occupied by more than one party controlling all rights.” Read more
For its 75th anniversary, NBA unveils list of… 76 greatest players ever!
The world’s best basketball league is celebrating its 75th anniversary. As part of the celebration, the league has unveiled a list of its 76 greatest players (one more player has been included due to a tie in voting).

Plans for biennial World Cup rejected by European Leagues
FIFA’s proposals to modify the international calendar have all been firmly rejected by European Leagues, an organisation that represents clubs from 30 European countries.
Representatives of the leagues have made their opinions known directly to Arsene Wenger, FIFA’s chief of global football development, during a call.
European Leagues managing director Jacco Swart has rejected outright any change in frequency of the World Cup or continental finals like the Euros. Read more
New women’s volleyball league launched in the US
The newly established League One Volleyball (LOVB) aims to give top American players a reason to stay home rather than playing in strong leagues abroad.
The new league has already set up a network of youth clubs in 11 US cities, including Atlanta and Chicago. The end goal is to build a bustling professional league, which is expected to be unveiled in 2022. Read more

If your personal data is processed under Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR (i.e. processed on the basis of the consent you have given to the processing), you may withdraw your consent at any time without any impact on the lawfulness of the processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.
7) You may lodge a complaint in respect of the processing of the above data to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection (PUODO).
