Canal+ renews rights for English Premier League across five countries
Canal+ has successfully renewed the rights to broadcast the complete English Premier League across five countries until 2028.
In France, all 380 matches per season will remain exclusively available on Canal+ channels, including myCanal, and notably the digital channel Canal+ Premier League. These exclusive rights extend to Switzerland (French language only), the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Vietnam, broadening the reach of the English Premier League to eager viewers. Read more

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman drew heavy criticism from human rights organizations by directly addressing claims of “sportswashing,” where sports are used to divert focus from the government’s controversial human rights policies.

Sweden proposes increase in gambling tax rate
Sweden’s Government has put forth a proposal to increase the gambling tax from 18% of gross gaming revenue (GGR) to 22%.
The announcement has faced opposition from the Swedish Trade Association for Online Gambling (BOS), where Secretary General Gustaf Hoffstedt has voiced disappointment. Hoffstedt believes it shows a lack of understanding about the market and could harm the gambling industry. Read more
NHL makes historic debut in Australia
After years of exploring, and planning, the NHL played in Australia for the first time.
The Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings played two preseason games at Rod Laver Arena in the 2023 NHL Global Series.
The NHL, attempting to build on its first foray into the Southern Hemisphere, expands its NHL Street Hockey program to Australia. The program has been designed for children aged 6 to 16. The North American version had incorporated various aspects of previously successful NHL club programs in non-traditional hockey markets such as Las Vegas, Nashville, and Tampa, Florida. Read more
