Kevin Durant inks lifetime deal with Nike
The Phoenix Suns star has signed a lifetime contract, becoming third NBA player to ink such a deal.
“When I first signed with Nike, I couldn’t have dreamed of how far we’d go in this partnership,” Durant said. “We’ve done amazing work creatively and philanthropically. We’ve traveled the world together and built a business that will now last forever. I’m excited for the future and honored to be in rare company with this deal.”

Formula 1 posts revenues of $381m
Liberty Media reported that Formula One Group generated $381 million in total revenue for the first quarter of 2023 — a 6% year-over-year increase from 2022 ($360M).
“The race weekends are drawing huge crowds, with the Australian Grand Prix hosting 445,000 fans and sellouts for the majority of the remaining calendar,” said Formula 1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali. Read more

Alabama baseball coach fired after suspicious wagering activity
Brad Bohannon was fired amid a widespread investigation into suspicious betting activity on the Crimson Tide’s game against LSU.
“Alabama director of athletics Greg Byrne announced he has initiated the termination process for head baseball coach Brad Bohannon for, among other things, violating the standards, duties, and responsibilities expected of University employees,” the statement of the University says. Read more
Swedish government calls for greater control over gambling
The country’s government has called on national regulator Spelinspektionen and the country’s financial supervisory authority (Finansinspektionen) to work closer together to combat illegal gambling.
The authorities also confirmed a funding boost for Spelinspektionen as part of a pledge to give the regulator more powers to fight unlicensed operators. Read more
LaLiga renews Mediapro deal
Spanish football’s LaLiga keeps Mediapro as its international audiovisual agency in a contract running until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Under the new contract, LaLiga said it will “lead the aspects related to audiovisual strategy, market analysis, deadlines for entering each of the markets, etc., either directly or through the group’s subsidiary companies.” Read more
