Spanish football clubs must end contracts with bookmakers
Spain’s Consumer Affairs Ministry has confirmed that football teams must terminate sponsorship agreements with betting companies by August 30, 2021.
The new regulation is part of Spain’s ‘Royal Decree on Advertising’, which imposes restrictions on gambling advertising across all media channels.
Currently, seven out of the 20 teams in La Liga have shirt sponsorship agreements with betting companies. These are Alavés (Betway), Cádiz (Dafabet), Granada (Winamax), Levante (Betway), Real Betis (Betway), Sevilla (MarathonBet) and Valencia (Bwin). Read more

Barcelona accepts European Super League invite, Bartomeu leaves
Josep Maria Bartomeu resigned from his position as Barcelona president and then announced that the club has agreed to join a new European Super League.
‘I can announce some extraordinary news,’ said Barcelona’s former president. ‘Yesterday we accepted a proposal to participate in a future European Super League, which would guarantee the future financial sustainability of the club.’
The European Super League (or European Premier League) is a proposed replacement for the Champions League involving up to 18 top European teams. Read more

If your personal data is processed under Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR (i.e. processed on the basis of the consent you have given to the processing), you may withdraw your consent at any time without any impact on the lawfulness of the processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.
7) You may lodge a complaint in respect of the processing of the above data to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection (PUODO).
