US betting market expected to surpass $40bn by 2030
For over five years now, US states have had the opportunity to legalize sports betting, resulting in a multibillion-dollar market.
Currently, 38 states and Washington DC have legalized some form of sports betting, and more are expected to join soon.
In 2022, sportsbook revenue in the US reached $7.5 billion, marking a 75% increase from 2021, as reported by the American Gaming Association (AGA). Flutter, the parent company of FanDuel, estimates that the overall US betting market will surpass US$40 billion by 2030. Read more
Cricket World Cup starts Thursday in India
The tournament will run from October 5 to November 19, featuring ten teams contending for the prestigious title.
Participating in this year’s event are ten esteemed teams: India, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka.

Rugby World Cup 2023 draws record-breaking TV viewership
Organizers of the Rugby World Cup are thrilled with the remarkable surge in both domestic and international television viewership, surpassing previous editions.
Jacques Rivoal, president of France 2023, said: “There’s excitement everywhere – in the stadiums and TV screens. Everywhere, we’re exploding the benchmarks that were set in Japan in 2019 and in England in 2015, sometimes 30 to 40% more.” Read more

On September 28, Kentucky launched its legal online sports betting market, just weeks after opening its regulated retail wagering market.
The retail market opened on September 7, with the online launch delayed as part of a staggered launch.
