Most Japanese companies don’t want Tokyo Olympics in 2021
More than half of 13,000 Japanese firms want next year’s Tokyo Olympic Games to be either cancelled or postponed again, according to a survey by Tokyo Shoko Research.
Of 12,857 companies surveyed, 27.8 percent said they wanted the event to be cancelled, while 25.8 percent said they wanted the Olympics to be postponed again. 46.2 percent of the surveyed firms want the event to be held in 2021.
The Olympics had already been postponed from summer 2020 to summer 2021 following the coronavirus pandemic. Read more
Brazil moves towards establishing sports betting marketplace
Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro signed a decree that paves the way for legal sports betting industry in the country.
The decree signed by Bolsonaro appoints Brazilian social development bank BNDES to work alongside the Ministry of the Economy – as the agencies tasked with overseeing all elements of launching the regulated sports betting marketplace. Read more
Indiana sports betting with a 138% increase in July
The return of the MLB and, a bit later, of the NBA helped revive sports betting activity in the US.
According to the Indiana Gaming Commission, there was a 138% surge over June’s wagers in the state, with $70.9 million in the total betting handle. However, Indiana’s sports betting is still down dramatically from February’s pre-coronavirus total of $187.2 million. Read more

UEFA will consider revisiting Champions League ‘final eight’ format
Bayern Munich have won this year’s unusual edition of the Champions League. Will the single-game knockout format of the competition come back in the future?
The format of this year’s competition had to be modified, obviously, due to the coronavirus outbreak. According to many fans and pundits, the one-legged matchups produced more attractive and entertaining games that two-legged games did in previous seasons. So will UEFA continue with the new format?
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said: “We were forced to do it but in the end, we see that we found out something new. So we will think about it in the future for sure.” Read more

6) You have the right to access the personal data held about you and to have your data rectified or erased or to restrict or to object to the processing as well as the right to data portability. If your personal data is processed under Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR (i.e. processed on the basis of the consent you have given to the processing), you may withdraw your consent at any time without any impact on the lawfulness of the processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.
7) You may lodge a complaint in respect of the processing of the above data to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection (PUODO).
