Barcelona secures €120m boost through media agreements

FC Barcelona has divested 29.5% of its holdings in its digital business Barça Vision to Libero Football Finance and Dutch investment firm Nipa Capital.

Notably, these shares were previously under the ownership of Socios and Orpheus Media. The aforementioned entities had initially acquired a 49.5% stake in Bridgeburg Invest for €200 million; however, the complete payment for their acquisition had not yet been disbursed. Read more

Kentucky’s online betting to launch on September 7

Following Governor Andy Beshear’s approval of House Bill 551 in April, Kentucky is gearing up to launch its legal online wagering market next month.

Retail betting will commence on September 7, followed by mobile wagering on September 28. Several prominent operators, including Bet365, FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, Circa, DraftKings, and Penn Sports Interactive, have applied for licenses, with proposals already submitted to the KHRC. Read more

NFL’s RedZone channel will be available for streaming

The NFL makes its two cable channels available to viewers who do not subscribe to a pay-TV bundle.

NFL RedZone will be available during the upcoming season with an NFL+ premium subscription.

“We launched NFL+ last season to further grow our direct relationship with millions of fans,” said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. “The response was excellent. Manchester United and Adidas forge £900 million sponsorship extension

Manchester United and Adidas have chosen to extend their apparel-sponsorship contract for an unprecedented £900 million ($1.2 billion), spanning an additional ten years.

This partnership will see the German sportswear giant maintain its role as the creator of kits and various other apparel items for the renowned English club. Premier League CEO downplays prospect of US-based games

Amid the surging popularity of the Premier League in the United States, league CEO Richard Masters has downplayed the notion of hosting a top-flight match there.

The Premier League’s influence has been on the rise, prompting the establishment of a New York office in July to support its growth and club presence in the U.S. Despite NBC securing a substantial $2.7 billion broadcast rights deal until 2028 and several clubs participating in a stateside summer series, Masters has dismissed the idea of a competitive match taking place in the country.
