Growing popularity of wagering among young Americans
According to a recent survey conducted by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), sports wagering is gaining significant traction among younger individuals in the United States.
The survey, which involved 3,527 respondents aged 18 to 22 and was conducted by Opinion Diagnostics, revealed that 58 percent of this age group have participated in at least one sports betting activity.
The findings highlight the prevalence of sports betting on college campuses, with the survey indicating that 67 percent of students residing on campus have engaged in betting, often at a higher frequency. Notably, the survey also revealed that college students who bet on sports have frequently placed bets on their school’s teams, and approximately 35 percent have utilized a student bookmaker. The French government has been presented with a preliminary plan that suggests the introduction of iCasinos to the country’s gambling industry, signaling a new chapter in the French igaming scene.
Spearheaded by Philippe Latombe, an En Marche MP, the proposed draft plan aims to address the perceived limitations and restrictions of the current French gambling landscape.

According to a recent report from Sponsor United, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has experienced remarkable growth in sponsorship revenue, reflecting its expanding global presence.
For the past season, NBA sponsorship revenue reached an impressive $1.4 billion, marking a significant 10.5% increase compared to the previous year. This surge can be attributed to the league’s successful international growth, record-breaking live attendances, remarkable spending growth, and soaring engagement on social media platforms.
Sponsor United’s report also highlights the key industry sectors that have been instrumental in driving NBA sponsorship revenue:
- Financial: $289 million
- Technology: $96 million
- Healthcare: $92 million
- Beverage/Alcohol: $79 million
- Sports Betting/Gambling/Lottery: $71 million
La Liga calls for stronger measures to eradicate racism
La Liga President, Javier Tebas, believes that the number of racist incidents in Spain’s top football division could be significantly reduced within six to seven months if the league possessed the “necessary powers” to take action.
In response to a recent incident where Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr was subjected to racist abuse during a match against Valencia, LaLiga has expressed a need for increased authority to address such incidents.

If your personal data is processed under Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR (i.e. processed on the basis of the consent you have given to the processing), you may withdraw your consent at any time without any impact on the lawfulness of the processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.
