Phoenix Mercury become first pro women’s team to sign a sports betting deal
The Phoenix Mercury are partnering with Bally’s Corporation in a landmark US$66m agreement. The company will operate a retail sportsbook in the vicinity of Phoenix Suns Arena.
Bally’s Corporation has been designated as the exclusive sports betting partner of the Phoenix Mercury for over 15 years.

NCAA athletes allowed to sell rights to their names and images
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), which regulates college sports in the USA, has approved a policy that will allow athletes to monetize their names, images, and likenesses for the very first time.
The new rules, approved by the NCAA Division I Board of Governors, represent a major shift in the association’s definition of amateurism. Players will now be able to participate in advertising campaigns, monetize their social media accounts, or earn money from teaching camps or lessons, etc. Read more
Sports clubs turn away from gambling sponsorships
Professional sports clubs are increasingly withdrawing from deals with betting and gaming companies, according to a report from Caytoo.
According to the data provided by Caytoo, the gambling industry accounts for 8.1% of all sponsorships across football, rugby, and cricket.
The sectors that increase their market share in sports sponsorship include construction and engineering, automotive, and financial services. Read more
NBA generates record sponsorship revenue
The league and its 30 teams generated a record US$1.46 billion in sponsorship revenue during the 2020/21 season despite the impact of Covid-19, according to IEG, a partnership and valuation consultancy firm.
The NBA added 13 new deals, including one with Microsoft. Technology brands helped the league bring in roughly $115 million per year in new spending. Read more

6) You have the right to access the personal data held about you and to have your data rectified or erased or to restrict or to object to the processing as well as the right to data portability. If your personal data is processed under Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR (i.e. processed on the basis of the consent you have given to the processing), you may withdraw your consent at any time without any impact on the lawfulness of the processing carried out before your consent was withdrawn.
7) You may lodge a complaint in respect of the processing of the above data to the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection (PUODO).
